    Welcome back to ClickBiology

    Hi Folks!

On this site you will find:

    • A level Biology Resources matched to Edexcel Concept/Context approach (but probably useful for all A level teachers). A key development will be A level revision resources and videos
    • IGCSE Biology resources including worksheets, infoquests, games, PowerPoint presentations (again probably useful for all KS4 Biology courses) and, of course, revision resources.
    • Textbook reviews
    • PowerPoint  tips, tutorials and templates (I don’t subscribe to the snobbery about PowerPoint from the ‘Death by PowerPoint’ cliche exponents. PowerPoint is a tool and can be used well or badly: it is down to the teacher themselves!).
    • Resources for other multimedia approaches including interactive whiteboards, Moodle, videos and online games.
    • General ramblings from a slightly eccentric, geeky and, I admit, moody Biology teacher.

I  have developed this site for two reasons:

Firstly I am fed up of trawling through huge complicated sites with thousands of links etc. These sites are great but I get quite overwhelmed and haven’t got the time to see what is specific to my needs. Hence I have limited myself to offering resources for Edexcel Biology A Level and Cambridge IGCSE, with some KS3 stuff. I may extend the IGCSE to cover Edexcel as well but then that is it. So if you quickly need some resources and you teach those courses then visit ClickBiology and save oodles of time. This tight focus on courses has been inspired by the generous Mark Rothery whose site has saved my bacon many a time even though his course follows the AQA exam board.

Secondly my resources are good, very good. I have won awards (well one, second place, first prize was a trip to Tanzania: I just won a book) and worked for Boardworks developing presentations. My resources have taken a lot of time to prepare and I think they are good enough to share. I did think about selling them as I think we teachers undervalue ourselves and our educational resources. After all there are many businesses selling resources making a fortune (and often it is teachers acting as authors for a small fee). However I know from experience that when I am trawling the Net for resources I will not spend money and so felt I should offer a proportion of my resources for free, run a blog. I have decided to minimise the amount of Google ads as I hate these, however if you would be so good as to order books via my E-store so I can earn a little bit to cover the cost of running the site that would be really nice.

So I think there is a need for a dedicated Biology course site for Edexcel and IGCSE, I think Biology teachers will like my resources and tips. This is a bit of an adventure for me but nothing ventured nothing gained (aargh…I ended on a cliche!).
