    Welcome back to ClickBiology

When I set the coursework for my students I always review the markscheme carefully. I used to print it off and hand it to them but I suspect they never really read them through. Hence I have done a shorter version (2 pages) that simply recaps the main requirements and the higher range marking guidelines. In addition there is a brief PowerPoint presentation reviewing the markscheme. All of these are deliberately short as I do want to keep the students focussed and not overload them with too much information.

    1. i want to ask, if i want to do a survey for unit 6 biology, can i do a survey on the effect of highlighting words on long-term memory?

    2. I actually think this has potential. If you are unsure you can ask your teacher to email the examiner at the “ask the expert” facility run by Edexcel. I always tend to do this just to be on the safe side. Remember to carefully consider all the variables you need to control (e.g. age etc.) and make sure you chose your word lists etc. carefully. There are two areas to consider here: whether the act of highlighting aids memory or the fact they are already highlighted so you will need to be sure exactly what you are measuring. I am presuming you mean the latter for your test?
